Sporting Blue Valley's new FRIDAY NIGHT soccer program

NEW FOR BEGINNER AND INTERMEDIATE PREK - 3RD GRADERS:

NEW: Seven Dates Of Supplemental Skill Training Will Give Your Athlete the Ball Control & Confidence They Need To Really Enjoy Soccer & Get The Most Out Of All The Time They Spend On The Field

(And Develop The Skills That Increase Total Athleticism, Which Translate To Every Sport He or She Plays!)

Want your PreK-3rd grader to love soccer? It all starts with ball control.

When players can handle the ball easily with their feet, they have more fun and play longer. And this coordination also builds quickness, balance, and confidence – skills that make them better at every sport they play.

If you want your athlete to enjoy soccer more and boost their overall athletic ability, our new SBV Ball Mastery program is exactly what they need.

More details and info below.

Have you ever been watching a soccer game and there's CLEARLY a standout player who just seems to easily move the ball through the defense or pass to a friend without an issue?

Or seen how a truly coordinated kid shines in any sport they play?

That's the power of coordination, and why we created Sporting BV Ball Mastery.

At the 3rd grade and below age level the ONLY difference between the really good players and the rest of the pack is the control and touch certain players have on the ball.

Some players play like they have four hands - moving the ball down the field, in and out of the other team.

While some players can't control the ball, and kick it out of bounds or right to the other players.

As the season goes on, one of these players will start to love the game and one player will have to be forced to get back on the field.

The better a player is with the ball, the more fun they have! It's difficult to really enjoy soccer when it's just kickball and sprinting after a rolling ball.

But here's a secret: The ONLY difference between these two players is ball mastery & coordination.

So if you have a PreK-3rd grader, the absolute best thing they can do is improve their touch, ball control, and master the ball at their feet.

Kick and run is only fun for a little bit...

And players really begin to connect with the sport and enjoy every minute on the field when they have mastered the ball and can control it with their feet, the same way they can control a ball with their hands.

That's why we created SBV Ball Mastery – it's a supplemental skill program focused entirely on improving a players' touch and ball control, so they can:

• Have more fun on the soccer field.

• Learn the foundations of the game early.

• Get the most out of their games and practices with their team.

• Develop transferable skills that elevate their performance in every sport they play!

NOTE: This program is held on Friday nights and is uniquely structured for maximum individual attention.

This means SBV Ball Mastery is LIMITED.

We're capping registration at just 12 players per age group, making it first-come, first-served.

We're limiting it to maintain a small-group feel and ensure our coaches maintain a 1:12 player-coach ratio. This guarantees every player gets personalized feedback and maximized touches on the ball.

The other reason we're limiting it is to make sure that all the players who are a part of this new program are only the players that are over-the-moon excited to be on the fields.

We've worked hard to put this together and are reserving it for the most enthusiastic young soccer players who want to get better.

And the cap isn't just about exclusivity - it's about making sure your athlete gets the most out of this program. We want every child to get personalized attention, constant touches on the ball, and immediate feedback from a coach who knows what they're doing.

This small-group setting is where your player will quickly gain the foundations, especially at their critical age.

That being said, your athlete does not need to be a top-level player to join.

This was designed for beginner and intermediate players who want to get better, which will help them enjoy the game more, and ultimately, enjoy all their sports more.

THE SBV BALL MASTERY CURRICULUM

This curriculum is designed to provide a progressive learning experience for young players, focusing on both technical skills and coordination exercises, within a fun and engaging environment.

The curriculum follows a "Play - Practice - Play" methodology, incorporating small-sided games, focused activities, and game-like scenarios to apply it all at the end.

An Average SBV Ball Mastery Session Outline:

  1. Warm-up (10 minutes):

    1. We'll start with fun, dynamic movements and light jogging to get their bodies ready to play. These activities often include coordination exercises and games like "Red Light Green Light" to prepare them for the session.

  2. Play 1 (10-15 minutes):

    1. Right away, we'll dive into small-sided games (like 2v2 or 3v3). This gets them excited, touching the ball, and making quick decisions in a real game environment with minimal coaching interference.

  3. Activity (2-3 activities, 8-10 minutes each):

    1. This is the core skill-building part! We'll focus on 2-3 specific drills designed to teach the day's ball mastery techniques and coordination skills. This might involve "Toe Taps," "Inside & Outside Foot Dribbling," or "Stop-and-Go" moves, ensuring lots of touches on the ball.

  4. Play 2 (15-20 minutes):

    1. Every session wraps up with a larger small-sided game (3v3 for K/1st grade or 5v5 for 2nd/3rd grade). This gives them a chance to immediately apply the skills they just learned in the "Activity" segment within a fun, realistic game scenario.

WHO IS COACHING SBV BALL MASTERY?

SBV Ball Mastery is coached exclusively by Sporting BV Pro Staff.

There are no volunteer or high school coaches on this staff, it's 100% coached by SBV Pro Staff coaches who have experience with players PreK-3rd grade and know exactly how to relay the incredible curriculum to your child.

Our coached are focused on creating a positive environment that encourages your player to learn the WHY behind each thing they do.

Every drill has a REASON, which means your son or daughter will understand why they're doing something, which makes them more apt to do it on their own at home and most importantly in a game.

We believe you can design the greatest curriculum in the world, but if it's not run by people who know how to teach it to your son/daughter, it'll never work and it won't make them better.

That's why you will NEVER see a volunteer or "helper" coach at this program.

But that's not all - if we REALLY wanted to, we could put one or two coaches on the field with 40-50 players and have the kids run their own lines/burn some energy, and call it a day.

That way we wouldn't have to cover the high price of our Pro Staff coaches - but Sporting BV doesn't operate that way.

And certainly not for this program.

That's why we're only staffing this with SBV Pro Staff members AND keeping a 1:12 coach to player ratio!

Which means at MOST, your player will experience this brand new curriculum with a small group of players that get the coach's undivided attention.

We want this to be great for your player, so we didn't cut ANY corners.

FAQs!

My player loves their recreational team, but I feel they need more focused training...can we still do this?

Absolutely! The SBV Ball Mastery program is designed to complement recreational soccer.

Your child can participate in both, as our Friday night practice schedule is intentionally set to avoid conflicts with most recreational teams.

This allows your child to enjoy the social aspects of recreational soccer while receiving advanced, focused ball mastery training to truly elevate their individual skill.

My child is very young. Is this program too competitive for them?

While SBV Ball Mastery provides a more structured environment than purely recreational play, it's still centered on fun and development.

The curriculum is highly age-appropriate, and our coaches prioritize creating a positive learning experience.

At this age, it's about building a love for the game and developing fundamental skills that benefit your athlete for as long as they play soccer – and beyond!

We consider this time of play the MOST important, because it allows us to instill in your athlete the "unconscious" fundamentals and techniques that coaches say you "just can't teach!" when they get to an older age.

Our goal with SBV Ball Mastery is to enrich the love your athlete has for the game, make them better on the field, so they ENJOY the sport as much as we do, and are able to play at whichever level they choose for as long as they want.

My child is new to soccer. Is this program suitable for beginners?

SBV Ball Mastery is ideal for players at Level 0 (no soccer experience at all) and fo players who have some basic soccer experience (even just a season or two of rec) with a strong desire to improve.

The only requirement for SBV Ball Mastery is that the players attending want to learn! No skills or previous soccer experience needed.

Our coaches are experts at meeting players where they are and working with each individual to develop their skills, helping them build confidence quickly.

My child plays other sports. Can they still participate?

YES! Sporting BV strongly encourages multi-sport participation!

Our once-a-week practice schedule is designed to be easily manageable alongside other activities.

We firmly believe that developing overall athleticism is crucial for young players.

The agility, balance, coordination, and mental quickness gained through ball mastery in soccer are highly transferable skills that will make them a better, more adaptable athlete in any sport they pursue – whether it's basketball, baseball, gymnastics, or track.

It's one of the best ways to meet new friends and become a more complete athlete!
